Floyd brings 15 years of AV/IT engineering, programming and commissioning experience across enterprise and health care environments to his role at Visionary
Santa Barbara, Calif. (October 12, 2026) — Visionary Solutions, a leading global innovator in AV-over-IP and IPTV technology, announces the appointment of Chris Floyd as Design and Support Engineer. Floyd brings 15 years of professional AV experience spanning AV/IT engineering, system design, programming, commissioning and technical support, with a background that includes both systems integration and end-user operations.
Floyd’s experience spans enterprise and health care environments, where he has worked across AV, control systems, digital signal processing, networking and collaboration platforms. Before joining Visionary, Floyd served as an AV systems engineer and control systems programmer at TEKsystems. His responsibilities included programming Crestron, Q-SYS and Extron systems, configuring Biamp Tesira DSP and Dante audio networks and commissioning divisible-room and multiroom installations. He worked with engineers, integrators, vendors and client IT teams to resolve issues involving network switching, multicast, control systems and AV transport.
Previously, Floyd worked at AVI-SPL, designing, programming, commissioning and supporting enterprise audiovisual and collaboration systems. He developed standardized control and user interface solutions, integrated conferencing systems and created documentation to support consistent deployment and long-term maintenance. Earlier in his career, he spent more than 12 years at UC Davis Health, supervising and supporting boardrooms, medical education facilities, lecture halls and conference environments.
“Chris brings experience with the technical challenges our integrators and end users face throughout the life of an AV system,” said Scott Freshman, chief operating officer for Visionary. “He understands how design decisions affect installation, commissioning and day-to-day support, and he has worked through problems that involve control, audio, video and the network. Chris’ perspective is valuable to our engineering and support team as we help customers integrate Visionary technology into their systems. We’re pleased to welcome him to the team.”
“I’ve worked with Visionary’s technology from both the integrator and end-user sides, so I’m excited to now be part of the team behind it,” said Floyd. “I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to Visionary and contributing to what the team is building.”
Before entering professional AV, Floyd served in the U.S. Air Force, working on electronic warfare systems. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal and Air Force Achievement Medal. Today, Floyd joins Visionary with direct experience using the company’s technology in the field and supporting the broader systems around it.
