Visionary expands AV-Over-IP platform strategy with software-based DSP, control and workflow orchestration system debuting at InfoComm 2026

Santa Barbara, Calif. (May 27, 2026) — Visionary, a leading global innovator in the AV-over-IP industry, announces the nexAV™ We-Cosystem™, a new audio, video and control platform debuting at InfoComm 2026.

Built for converged AV and IT environments, the nexAV We-Cosystem combines AV-over-IP routing and switching, audio DSP processing, room and enterprise control, device discovery, workflow orchestration and user-interface development within a unified software platform. The platform is designed for applications ranging from hospitality and conferencing to enterprise-wide AV deployments, allowing integrators and end users to design around operational requirements rather than vendor-imposed limitations.

The launch reflects Visionary’s long-standing focus on simplifying AV deployment through software-driven infrastructure and AV-over-IP technologies. As AV platforms become increasingly over-engineered and burdened by unnecessary complexity, nexAV is focused on delivering practical customer value through adaptable system design, simplified workflows, and scalable architecture, allowing organizations to deploy the functionality they actually need without unnecessary overhead.

“At some point, parts of the AV industry began confusing complexity with capability,” said Scott Freshman, chief operating officer for Visionary. “Our philosophy has always been that technology should reduce friction and make systems easier to deploy, manage, and operate. That mindset helped define our AV-over-IP endpoints, and it is foundational to the nexAV We-Cosystem.”

At the center of nexAV is Visionary’s Flex Architecture DSP framework and integrated Audio Engine. The platform uses template-based DSP workflows intended to simplify deployment while allowing systems to be customized for different applications. Native Dante® and AES67 support allows the Audio Engine to integrate into modern networked audio environments ranging from individual rooms to campus-wide systems.

Visionary’s DSP platform emerged from a multi-year collaboration with industry pioneer Dane Butcher. Following the sale of Symetrix, Butcher focused on developing a browser-based DSP architecture for software-defined audio systems. Visionary later acquired the technology and spent several years refining and integrating it into the nexAV platform.

In parallel with nexAV’s development, Visionary has been strategically expanding its engineering and customer support teams with experienced audio DSP professionals for the nexAV launch. Visionary’s investment reflects a broader commitment to ensuring customers have access to advanced technology and deep real-world expertise in DSP workflows, system deployment and application support.

The nexAV We-Cosystem also introduces a control environment built on Node-RED, the open-source flow-based framework widely used in automation and enterprise integration. By building around Node-RED, Visionary moves beyond the limitations of traditional proprietary AV control systems and enables integration between AV systems, cloud platforms, building systems, analytics engines, AI-driven workflows and enterprise technologies. Backed by a global developer community that extends far beyond AV, Node-RED gives nexAV a significant advantage over proprietary AV control ecosystems by delivering continuous improvement at a scale closed platforms cannot easily match.

Visionary’s approach allows nexAV to function as more than a room-control system. nexAV is designed to coordinate automation, monitoring and data exchange across interconnected technology environments while dramatically reducing the effort required to customize workflows and integrations.

The emergence of AI-assisted development tools are changing how AV control workflows and integrations are created by reducing the complexity associated with driver creation and system integration. These tools do not replace expertise; they help developers and integrators move faster while making advanced customization more accessible within modern software-driven AV environments.

Rather than forcing organizations into vendor-prescriptive ecosystems, the nexAV We-Cosystem is designed to support mixed technology environments while maintaining centralized management and a consistent user experience across deployments.

Visionary will showcase the nexAV We-Cosystem during InfoComm 2026 with live demonstrations highlighting DSP flexibility, AV-over-IP integration, and software-driven control workflows across modern AV environments.
